Orofacial sarcoidosis: report of three cases

چکیده

Introduction: Sarcoidosis is a systemic non-caseating granulomatous disorder of unknown etiology that may affect multiple organ systems. Head and neck involvement can present in unusual often nonspecific ways. Observations : We report three cases sarcoidosis with orofacial manifestations: one African American patient an existing diagnosis who presented perioral cutaneous by sarcoidosis, two Caucasian patients where the initial oral presentation – diffusely affected gingiva intraosseous jaw resultant dental implant failure other led to workup establishment sarcoidosis. The were referred rheumatology dermatology for appropriate treatment. Conclusion: Although lesions are not common, they be first clinical manifestation practitioner should aware possible manifestations able formulate informed differential diagnosis.
